The Adult ADHD Centre is dedicated to the assessment and management of adults with ADHD. Over 4000 adults who have been struggling with university/college education, relationships, home functioning, family life, work performance, and social lives have been assessed. Dr. Anita Parhar, initially as an elementary school teacher and later as a university instructor who trained teachers, recognized that there was a great need for the diagnosis and treatment of adults with ADHD. Children, who were not diagnosed or not treated for their ADHD, had become adults with ADHD. Dr. Gurdeep Parhar, whose practice for the past three decades focused on patients with physical, psychological and cognitive disabilities realized that there were few resources and supports for his adult patients with ADHD. The Adult ADHD Centre also provides ADHD Coaching, ADHD Counselling, education of health professionals and the general public about ADHD, and participates in leading research to better understand ADHD.

- Parents looking for educational support can search our database of available teachers and find the right educator for their specific needs.
- The parent then contacts the teacher by email through the site and the teacher and parent work out the details such as content, place, and price.

Comprehensive Adult ADHD Assessments with treatment planning are available to residents of British Columbia. All patients are first referred by a primary healthcare provider. Then, after completing a confidential online assessment form, we meet via telehealth for your assessment. After the assessment, the referring primary healthcare provider receives a detailed consultation report with treatment recommendations. Given the high demand for psychiatrists, Dr. Emes does not directly provide ongoing care, instead, he collaborates with the referring primary healthcare provider (or clinic) to ensure patients receive specialized treatment and support. The cost of this service is covered under the provincial medical insurance plan, so patients do not have to pay any additional fees. |
