Come on out and join us for a full day of presentations geared to families dealing with ADHD. Our morning sessions will be divided between the science of ADHD and how ADHD presents at different stages in life, followed by a unique brief presentation by two young adult students speaking about their own experiences and insights in ADHD. The afternoon will focus on effective parenting and home life tips and strategies as well as appropriate accommodations and strategies for the classroom. An open Q&A/ Discussion period will follow where attendees can ask questions and share their insights.

Dr. Joan Flood is a graduate of McGill University and the University of Manitoba. She is a family physician with a focused practice in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Shoniker Clinic. She has considerable experience working with children and teens with ADHD, Learning Disorders and Autism. She is a member of CADDRA and on the Advisory Board of CADDAC.
Donna Cook has always had a passion for teaching LD ADD kids and adults. She is a former psychometrist who now works children with LD and ADHD in various schools, treatment centres and clinics. She is presently the Academic Resource Coordinator for a private school in Durham and owner of her own educational centre in Pickering specializing in remediation of LD and ADHD for both child and adult students. She is also the President of LDA Durham Chapter.
Heidi Bernhardt is the mother of three young men with ADHD. She has a background in psychiatric nursing, was the Executive Director of the (CADDRA), a national not-for-profit organization of the leading clinicians and researchers in ADHD in Canada, and a founder of CADDAC and the ADRN. Heidi is presently the President and Executive Director of the Centre for ADHD Awareness Canada (CADDAC).
